Hit 500 straight haircuts without a single messed up fade line... then today ruined it

I was feeling pretty good about my milestone this morning, been tracking every client for 8 months at the shop in Austin. Then this afternoon I rushed a skin fade on a regular and slipped the clipper guide off, left a huge line right above his ear. Has anyone else had a perfect streak end in the dumbest way possible?

How many of those 500 clients would even notice that line if you hadn't told them about it? Perfectionism is what got you to 500 clean cuts in the first place, but it's also the same thing making you feel like one slip erases all that work. The real loss isn't the streak, it's letting that mistake wreck your confidence for the next client.

Wait, is that why my buddy stopped cutting for like two months after one bad fade...? He spent a whole day in his shop just staring at clippers, wouldn't even take a walk-in.
