I rolled my eyes at those fancy Japanese shears for years...
Always thought my $40 pair from the supply shop was fine, until a barber friend in Austin let me try his Hikari Co. blades for a full day. The weight and balance just... changed how my wrist felt after eight straight cuts. Now I'm saving up for my own pair, but man, are there any decent options under $150 that won't fall apart?

My old shears were killing my hand too. I found a used pair of Matsui shears on a barber forum for about $120... the difference in the pivot point alone was a game changer. They're not the top brand, but my grip fatigue is basically gone now.

Wait, you used them for eight cuts in a row? My wrist starts complaining after like three clients with my cheap shears. That balance must be insane if you didn't feel a thing. I guess that's what you pay for, but now I'm side-eyeing my own pair.
