Just wasted $80 on a clipper that died after 2 weeks

Picked up one of those cheap cordless clippers from a beauty supply spot on Broadway thinking I was saving money. First week it was fine, second week the battery started dying halfway through a head. By day 14 it wouldn't hold a charge at all. Took it back and the guy said no returns on electrics. Anyone else get burned by those budget clippers?

Ah man, I gotta disagree a little bit here. I mean, I get that it's frustrating when something dies that quick, no doubt. But $80 for cordless clippers from a beauty supply spot is already kind of a gamble, you know? Most decent clippers in that price range are gonna be entry level at best. I've had a $60 Wahl last me like a year and a half with regular oiling and cleaning, and I only upgraded because I wanted a quieter motor. Maybe it's just me but I feel like people expect budget tools to perform like pro ones, and that's never really how it works. Sucks about the no returns policy though, that part is bogus for sure.

Oh man, that's a solid point about the Wahl lasting a year and a half. Honestly, I bought a cheap trimmer from a gas station once on a road trip, thought I was being smart, and it literally smoked out after two uses, scared the crap out of me. Ngl, it's wild how people expect pro performance from stuff that's basically made to be disposable these days.
