Learned the hard way about clipper guards at Bob's Barbershop in Cleveland

I used to think any metal guard was the same as another until I borrowed a buddy's set of Wahl guards and they fit different than my Andis ones. Had a regular get a gnarly cut because the guard slipped off mid fade and the blade went right into his scalp. Now I only mix brands if they're actually designed to click together, and I test every guard before I touch a head. Any of you guys run into compatibility issues with different brand guards?

@jamie794 I'd push back - cheap guards work fine if you check the fit first.

Had a similar thing happen with a cheap guard years ago, still makes me cringe thinking about it.

Cheap guards work fine if you check the fit first." Famous last words. Until the guard pops off and you're staring at a bloody scalp wondering if that $5 savings was worth it.
