Old timer told me to soak my combs in witch hazel instead of barbicide

I laughed it off when my uncle Frank who's been cutting hair in Pittsburgh since 1975 said toss your combs in witch hazel with a few drops of tea tree oil and I tried it last month on a dare and now my blades aren't rusting and my hands aren't cracking from the barbicide, has anyone else dabbled with natural soaks for daily tools?

Just witch hazel is doing all that? Sounds like a stretch to me lol.

Right? Pretty soon they'll be telling us that cucumber slices under your eyes can fix your credit score too. I mean I guess it works for some people but that's a lot of hype for a bottle of tree water.
