Shoutout to the old barber who showed me how to blend balding spots

Had a older guy come in about 6 months ago, maybe 65 years old with a thinning crown. He asked me to just even it out but not make it obvious. I was sweating bullets trying to get the fade right over his bald spot. He leaned forward and said, "son, you gotta use the corner of the clipper blade, not the whole thing." He even reached up and guided my hand a little. Has anyone else had a client actually teach you a technique on the spot like that?
