The 45 minute haircut rule is a LIE and I have the proof

I was reading through the state board study materials last week, the 2024 edition, and they still teach that an average mens haircut takes 45 minutes. That number is completely outdated. I timed myself and every barber I know over the last month, and we are all finishing standard skin fades in 25 to 35 minutes tops. The only cuts that hit 45 are detailed scissor work or kids who wont sit still. This matters because shops use that number for scheduling and pricing, and it makes clients think we are rushing them when we finish early. I showed the study guide to my shop owner and he just laughed and said the state has been teaching that since the 80s. Has anyone else noticed the gap between what the licensing tests say and what actually happens on the floor? How do you handle clients who think fast means sloppy?

Man, I gotta disagree, 45 is the sweet spot for a proper cut.
