The old barber in Akron who told me to stop chasing every new fade tool

He said he's been cutting hair since 1987 with the same three clippers and a pair of shears he sharpened himself, and my drawer full of $60 Amazon guards hasn't made my fades any cleaner than his, so now I'm wondering how many of you actually rotate through new gear or just stick with the same setup for years?
