This week a guy came in asking for a 'classic fade' and brought a picture of a military buzz cut. We got it sorted, but man, the disconnect is REAL sometimes.

Oh man, that reminds me of the time I asked for a "little off the top" and walked out looking like I joined a monastery. The words just don't mean the same thing to everyone, do they?

And that's what kills me. People think barbers are mind readers or something. Like we just know what you mean by "a little off the top" when that means something totally different to everyone. How many times has someone sat in your chair and said "just clean it up" and then flipped out when you took off more than a quarter inch? Did that guy actually get mad when you showed him the buzz cut was not the same as the fade he described? Because I've had dudes argue with me about what they said five minutes earlier.
