TIL a new way to handle those tough neckline fades on kids
Had a dad bring in his 8 year old son last week. Kid would not stop moving. Usually I go straight for the clippers with a guard. This time I tried a barber's trick I saw online. Started with shears to get the bulk off first. Then used the clippers for the fine line. Kid sat still for the whole thing. Has anyone else tried this method on wiggly clients?

My buddy Jake at the shop on Elm Street had a similar situation with a toddler last month. He said the kid was squirming so much the clipper guard kept slipping. Jake switched to thinning shears first to remove most of the hair weight. He told me it softened the whole process, less vibration and noise. The little guy finally calmed down enough for Jake to clean it up with the bare clipper blade. It totally changed how he handles fades now.

That's a smart move from Jake, reminds me of my nephew's first haircut.
