Unpopular opinion: 45 minute appointments are killing our craft in Phoenix

Last month I had a client in chandler who wanted a classic taper with a straight razor neck shave. I told her it would take a full hour and she looked at me like I had three heads. Every shop around here pushes 45 minute slots just to squeeze more heads in the chair, but that leaves zero time for actual conversation or fixing a bad line. Three years ago I booked 90 minute windows and my regulars actually trusted me with their hair, not just their clock. Are we really okay trading quality for volume, or is that just me?
