Warning: A customer told me my fades had a dark line near the temple and it took me 3 weeks to fix my technique

So last month a regular just straight up asked me 'why is there always a shadow right there?' pointing at the temple area. I was kind of offended at first (you know, pride and all that). But I watched some videos and realized I was flicking out too early with my clippers instead of blending through. Changed my lever technique and now I check that spot with a mirror every time. Anyone else get a critique that stung but actually helped?

That "wobbly like a kids drawing" line is brutal but hilarious (in hindsight, at least). I'm curious though - when you switched back to the corner of your trimmer, did you find you had to change how you hold the whole thing, or just adjust your wrist angle? I ask because I tried that fix and ended up with my hand cramping after three heads until I figured out a lighter grip.

Had a guy once tell me my edgeups looked "wobbly like a kids drawing." Took offense for a whole day until I pulled up my photos from the week before and yep, he was right. Went back to using the corner of my trimmer blade instead of the flat side and it cleaned everything up. Sometimes the ones that hurt the most are the ones you needed to hear.
