Went to a barber expo in Cleveland last weekend and it was a clown show

I figured I'd check out a trade show for some new clippers and maybe pick up a few tips. Got there at 9 AM and half the vendors weren't even set up yet. One guy was trying to sell a thinning shear that looked like it came from a dollar store for $120. Watched a demo on skin fades and the barber messed up the zero gap on his Wahl 5 stars and buzzed a bald spot right into the model's head. Whole room went quiet for a second. Anyone else have bad luck at these expo things or was this just a one off?

Man I went to a car show last year and some dude tried to sell me a steering wheel cover with the stitching already coming undone for 80 bucks. Some events just attract the bottom feeders I guess.

Did you really expect a barber expo to run like a Swiss watch? I've been to my fair share of trade shows and they're usually a mess, especially early in the morning. That demo story is rough but honestly it just sounds like a live demo gone wrong, not some kind of sign that the whole industry is falling apart. Those shows are more about networking and seeing what's out there than getting a flawless haircut or finding the perfect tool. I'd give it another chance before writing them off for good.

Agree with @richard_sanchez43, sounds like a total waste of time.
