Can we talk about the $150 wireless meat probe I bought that gave me a false reading and ruined a brisket?

The probe said it was at 195F internal but when I checked with my old analog thermometer it was actually only 180F, so I pulled it way too early. Has anyone else had a wireless probe fail on them like that?

What brand was it? And did you check if the probe had a firmware update before you used it?

That "ruined a brisket" part is the real gut punch. I mean, you invest all that time and money into a cut of meat just for a gadget to lie to you. Makes you wonder if the tech is even worth the hassle over something simple that just works.

What brand was the probe? That's a huge temperature difference to be off by.
