Pro tip: Moving my smoker away from the fence saved a batch of ribs

I had my smoker right next to the backyard fence for years. Last cookout, the wind shifted and blew heat directly into the wood. Almost burned the ribs on that side before I noticed. Now I keep it in a more open spot for even cooking. It seems obvious, but location really matters.

Honestly, that's a perfect example of how tiny setup changes fix big problems. I had the same thing with my garage fridge freezing everything on one side because it was too close to the wall. Now I keep it a few inches out and it runs fine. It's wild how much placement matters for basically anything that heats or cools.

My old fridge had the same issue as yours, @iris_jones89, but it was just broken.

Yeah, and I bet half the time it's just the door seal going bad. People never check that first.
