Calling it a piece of history seems like a stretch. It's a list of ingredients, not a treasure. Families make too big a deal out of this stuff.

I get what you mean about it being more than spices, but calling it a piece of history feels like too much. For a lot of people, it's just a way to make a good meal. The trust part is real, but the recipe itself is often just a normal thing that got turned into a big secret over time. It's nice to be included, but it doesn't always have some deep meaning.
