I used to peel garlic with my fingers for 20 years

My neighbor laughed at me and showed me the "shake it in a bowl" trick. Now I can prep a whole head in 30 seconds flat. How do you guys deal with sticky garlic skin?

Wait, you have to dry them first? Man, I've been stuck with that sticky mess so many times and I bet that was my problem all along. I mean, I've definitely been guilty of just throwing wet cloves right in the bowl and wondering why it turned into a sticky disaster.

My Grandma taught me the bowl shake trick when I was 12 and I never looked back. Just put the cloves in a metal bowl, put another bowl on top upside down, and shake it like your life depends on it for about 15 seconds. The skins fly right off every time. Only catch is you gotta make sure the cloves are dry or it's a sticky mess. Also if you're doing a whole head at once just whack it with a heavy knife first to break it apart into individual cloves.
