My grandma's old blender finally gave out mid-smoothie last Tuesday

I was making my morning spinach and banana smoothie and the motor started smoking something awful... smelled like burning wires and regret. Turns out the 1970s Osterizer just couldn't handle frozen fruit anymore after all these years. Has anyone found a solid replacement that doesn't cost a fortune and can actually crush ice?

That "smelled like burning wires and regret" line is gold but honestly vintage blenders work fine if you just add more liquid.

The real issue with those old blenders is the motors can't handle modern ice crushing. They were built for soft fruit and maybe a few ice cubes, not frozen smoothie packs.
