Why does nobody talk about microwaving garlic for 15 seconds to peel it
I stood in my kitchen in Boise for 20 minutes peeling a whole head of garlic for a big batch of chili and my fingers smelled like it for two days. My neighbor told me to toss the cloves in the microwave for 15 seconds and the skins slide right off, so I tried it on 3 cloves and it actually worked. Now I'm torn, because some people say the microwave kills the flavor and you should just smash the cloves with a knife instead. I did a side by side in two pans and honestly could not taste a difference, but maybe my tongue is just bad. Which side are you on, microwave or knife smash?
