Fixed a customer's 20 year old bike on a busy Saturday
Guy rolled in with a Trek mountain bike from the 90s, just wanted the brakes to stop squealing. Spent 20 minutes cleaning and adjusting the v-brakes, and he said it rode better than the day he bought it. Anyone else get a kick out of fixing the old beaters that people have had forever?

Honestly, I totally get that. There's something cool about bringing an old bike back to life with just a little bit of work. Tbh, I'm way more impressed by a fixed up 90s Trek than some fancy new carbon frame that costs more than my car. Ngl, my own bike is held together with zip ties and hope, so I've got a soft spot for stuff that's been ridden hard. I can barely fix my own brakes without making them worse, so you're basically a wizard in my book.

Used to judge zip tie repairs. You just changed my whole view on that.
