Took a chance on a used Park Tool truing stand for $40 at a swap meet last weekend

I was SUPER skeptical because the thing looked beat up and the dial indicator was missing. But the guy running the booth let me spin a wheel on it and the arms were still straight. I grabbed it, bought a cheap replacement indicator online for $15, and it works perfectly. Has anyone else found killer deals on beat up shop gear that just needed a little love?

Took a chance" but you didn't though, did you? You bought a missing piece and hoped the rest worked. I'd rather pay full price for something that isn't a gamble.
