Took me 4 hours to find a seized pulley on a 2018 Stumpjumper

Customer brought in a bike with a grinding rear derailleur, I kept chasing cable friction and the hanger alignment. After 4 hours of swapping parts around, I finally pulled the jockey wheel off and the bearing was completely shot, it had water in it from a pressure washer. Has anyone else had these SRAM pulleys fail silently like that, or am I just unlucky?
