Why does nobody talk about how dirty chain lube attracts grit?
Honestly, I used to drown my chain in wet lube every week thinking I was doing it right. Then I went to a group ride last Saturday and a guy named Dave pointed out my drivetrain was basically a sandpaper factory. He showed me this tiny patch of grinding wear on my cassette after just 2 months. Tbh, I had zero idea all that extra lube was just trapping road dust. Has anyone else found a dry lube that actually lasts through a wet morning?

Wait, Dave actually showed you the wear pattern on the cassette? That's wild. I mean, I knew wet lube was bad for attracting dirt, but I didn't realize it could literally sand down your components in just two months. That's kind of horrifying when you think about it (especially if you're on a budget like me). As for dry lube, I've had decent luck with the Squirt stuff, but it definitely needs a reapplication if you hit any morning dew or light rain.

Wet lube turning your drivetrain into sandpaper in two months, @taylorc50? Sounds like a bad date.
