Found a 90s show guide from Blockbuster in an old book. Crazy how we used to pick based on the back cover.

Flipping through it and saw all these movies I'd forgotten about. No streaming, no recommendations. Just whatever cover art caught your eye. My picks were so random back then. Miss that feeling sometimes even if it was inefficient. Anyone else remember relying on those Box summaries?

Did you ever rent a total stinker based on cool cover art and then just sit through it anyway because you had nothing else to do?

Oh man, that's basically the story of my entire weekend in the late 90s. I rented this movie called "The Evil Below" because it had a killer cover with a skull made of coral or something and I swear it was just 90 minutes of a boat slowly sinking while some guy yelled. Sat through the whole thing because my friend had already cracked open a bag of Doritos and we were just committed at that point. I've definitely paid the price for trusting a cool font and a skull on a VHS cover way too many times. Lesson learned, sort of.
