Hit 100 episodes of One Piece and I finally get why people call it a binge monster
Started watching back in April because a guy at work kept bugging me about it. I told myself I would just watch the first arc to shut him up, and here I am at episode 100 and still going. The thing that surprised me is how the show sneaks up on you, like the Arlong Park stuff around episode 30 had me sitting there way past midnight. I keep a little note on my phone tracking which episodes made me want to keep going, and that list is getting long. 100 episodes sounded insane to me before I started, but now it feels like I barely scratched it. Anyone else here track their progress through a long show, or do you just power through and hope you remember where you left off?
My buddy Dave did the opposite of your note trick and it bit him hard. He got to around episode 300 of One Piece, took a two month break for a new job, then came back and had no clue who half the side characters were or why some guy with a weird hat was suddenly important. He ended up restarting from episode 1, which put him back almost a year. Now he keeps a notebook by the couch and writes one line per arc, just a name and what happened, and he says it saved him when he did the same thing again with Naruto. Your phone notes are basically the smarter version of that, so keep at it. The funny part is he still swears the restart was worth it because he caught a bunch of stuff he missed the first time.
