I gave up on a show after two episodes but my friend made me go back

It was 'Severance' and I found the first hour so slow I almost turned it off. My buddy in Chicago said to push through to episode 3, so I did. By the end of that night I had watched five more because the story just clicked. Has anyone else had a show that started slow but totally hooked you later on?

Honestly if a show needs three episodes to get good, it's just not that good.

The show needs three episodes to get good" thing kinda misses the point with a lot of shows though @dylanh97. Look at Breaking Bad, the first season is slow and a lot of people gave up before episode 4. That show is like one of the best ever made. Or The Office, the first season is completely different and not nearly as funny as the rest. It's not always about a show being bad, sometimes it's just finding its footing or the showrunner changing stuff after the pilot. Three episodes is a fair shot but it's not some magic cutoff.

Wait, you only gave it three episodes... that's barely a chance.
