I was at a coffee shop in Portland and overheard two people arguing about 'The Bear'
So I'm waiting for my drink and these two people at the next table are really into it. One person was saying the show is way too stressful to binge, that the kitchen scenes give them real anxiety and they can only watch one episode at a time. The other person was saying that's the whole point, the stress is what makes it so good and you have to power through a whole season to really feel the payoff. They were talking about specific episodes, like the one in season two with the Christmas dinner flashback. It got me thinking about what makes a show truly 'bingeable'. Is it about being easy to watch, or is it about being so good you can't stop even if it's hard to watch? What's a show you loved but found tough to marathon?

Are people really that fragile about a TV show? I watched it and it was fine, nothing that special. I get that holiday episodes can hit different for some folks, but wrecked for a week? That sounds like an overreaction. Maybe step away from the screen and get some fresh air if a show can do that to you. It's just entertainment, not a real life crisis. I think some people need to build up a thicker skin about fictional stories.
