I was at my friend's cabin in Michigan and we ran out of things to do

It was raining for two days straight, so we decided to start a show called 'Dark' on a whim. We ended up watching the entire first season in one sitting, just talking about the twists. I used to think you needed to be in a big city with good internet to really get into a series. Now I look for shows with a strong hook from the first episode, because you never know when you'll be stuck inside. What's a show that grabbed you right from the start?

Was it that moment when they found the kid's body in the cave that really sealed it? I totally get what you're saying about that first episode needing a strong hook. For me, it was when the stranger showed up and the timeline started getting all weird. You could tell they were setting up something way bigger than just a missing kid story. And yeah, @elizabeth_jackson mentioned the vanishing kid scene, but I think the real gut punch was later when you realized everything was connected across those different years. That's what kept me glued, especially since we had nothing else to do but get lost in it.

Honestly, that sounds like the perfect way to get stuck in a show. I tried watching Dark once and got so lost I had to start over. Tbh, that first episode hook is everything. What was the specific moment in that first episode that made you and your friend look at each other and know you were watching the whole thing?

Was it the part where the kid just vanished into thin air?
