Just found out the 'Friends' fountain intro took over 100 tries to film

I was watching a behind the scenes thing on YouTube (you know, the kind you fall into at 2 AM). They said they had to do the opening credits bit with the fountain like 102 times because of the water and the timing. That's a whole day just for a 30 second clip! It makes you think about all the weird little things that go into making a show. What's the most surprising 'making of' fact you've heard about a show you love?

Disagree hard, honestly. A hundred tries for a fountain splash feels like a huge waste of time and money. I mean, it's a fun intro, but was the 102nd take really that much better than the 50th? Shows have budgets. @hill.troy mentioned complex shots needing dozens of takes, but that's exactly the problem. It feels like some directors get stuck chasing something perfect that doesn't even matter to the story. Like, I heard they did the Seinfeld bass line a million times too. At some point, you just gotta pick one and move on.

Honestly, that seems like a pretty normal amount of takes for something that tricky.

Yeah, I was just reading about how many tries it takes to get a complex shot right. Some directors will do dozens for just one scene.
