My buddy swore I had to watch The Expanse starting from season 2
He said season 1 was too slow and I'd quit if I started there. I listened to him and skipped right to season 2. I got about 5 episodes in and had no clue what was going on with the plot or the characters. Went back and watched season 1 and it all made sense. Has anyone else been given bad advice on where to start a show that actually ruined the experience?

Starting with Breaking Bad was actually perfect for me. Jumping into the middle kept things mysterious and made me want to keep watching.
