My buddy swore I had to watch The Wire and I put it off for years

A guy I worked with on a roofing crew back in 2017 kept telling me The Wire was the best show ever made. I finally started it last month after he passed away, and he was absolutely right. The way it shows Baltimore from every angle, the cops, the dealers, the politicians, it's like nothing else I've seen. I finished all five seasons in three weeks. Has anyone else had a friend nag them about a show that turned out to be a masterpiece?

Wait, hold on... three weeks? That's like, what, 60 hours of TV in 21 days? That's insane man, I don't think I've ever binged anything that fast.

Late nights after the kids went down, honestly. Watched an episode or two on my phone while the girlfriend was asleep. Some weekends I'd knock out four or five if it rained and I wasn't working. The first season hooked me so bad I'd stay up till 2am just to see what happened with Stringer and Avon. Not proud of it but that show makes it real easy to lose track of time.
