My friend said my 'binge list' was just a bunch of sad dramas and it made me realize I was stuck in a rut.

I added a comedy after every heavy show, and now I can watch for hours without feeling drained. What's a good light show to break up a serious run?

Parks and Rec is my go-to for this. It's pure, dumb fun and the characters are all weirdly lovable. Brooklyn Nine-Nine works too if you want something with more of a plot but still silly. I've also used The Good Place as a buffer show, it's smart but doesn't take itself too seriously.

My third rewatch of Parks and Rec got me through a really stressful move last year. I'd just watch one episode while eating takeout and it felt like hanging out with friends. Ron Swanson's whole woodworking and breakfast food thing never fails to make me smile. It's the perfect mix of silly and warm.

Ever tried making a drinking game out of The Great British Baking Show? Every time someone says "soggy bottom" you take a sip, every time Paul Hollywood does that judging stare you take another. I got so invested in whether someone's custard would set that I forgot about the heavy show I was trying to balance out. Plus the tent and the music are just so cozy, it feels like a hug in show form.
