My sister told me to skip the first season of 'The Expanse' and I'm glad I did.

She said the show really finds its feet in season two, so I started there and got hooked right away. Anyone else have a show where the advice was to skip ahead?

Skipping the first season of The Expanse means you missed the entire world-building foundation.

Man, I had a buddy who thought he could just jump into season 2 and he was totally lost, kept asking me who these people were and why they hated each other. He finally went back and watched the first season after I bugged him enough, and @gonzalez.grant is right, it all makes way more sense with that foundation in place.
