Had to choose between a legacy game night and a regular weekly group
My old crew wanted to start a 12-week Gloomhaven campaign, but my new friends just play different games each Tuesday. I picked the regular group because I can't commit to that many weeks in a row, and honestly, it's been way less stressful. Does anyone else feel like legacy games ask for too much time?

Oh man, I get this completely. My group tried a legacy game last year and it felt like a second job after a while. We had to cancel twice for life stuff and then spent half an hour just remembering what we were doing. I switched to just doing one-shot game nights where we pick something new each time. It's way more fun for me because there's no homework and no pressure. I miss the big story sometimes, but my free time is too all over the place for a set schedule.

Legacy games can mess with group friendships in a sneaky way too. You start seeing people as just pieces of the campaign machine, not friends hanging out. Missing a week feels like letting the team down, which adds this weird guilt to what's supposed to be fun. The regular game night keeps the social part easy and actually about the people.
