I finally gave in and tried a solo board game after years of being against it

I used to think solo board games were just sad ways to play when you had no friends. Then I got stuck at home with a broken ankle for 3 weeks and got bored out of my mind. I picked up a copy of Sprawlopolis from my local shop since it was only $12 and small. It took me maybe 45 minutes to get the rules down, but after my first game I was hooked. Now I actually enjoy the quiet focus it gives me, no waiting for other people to take their turns. Has anyone else changed their mind about a type of game they swore they'd never play?

Solo games are just sad ways to play when you have no friends" - that line hit hard cause I used to say the same thing. But you mentioned the quiet focus part and that got me wondering, do you still play multiplayer games at all or did solo kinda take over? I've been curious if people end up dropping one style completely once they get into the other.

... funny you ask cause I actually tried jumping into a multiplayer game last week and it just felt... off. Too much noise and people yelling. @mason_flores21 you ever notice how multiplayer kinda trains you to react fast while solo games let you breathe? I still play both but solo definitely took the lead once I realized I wasn't missing anything by not having people around. What's the last multiplayer game that actually hooked you?
