I used to hate coop games until my group played Dead of Winter last night

Always thought cooperative board games were boring cause there's no winner, but last night at my buddy's place in Portland we played Dead of Winter and I finally got it. The tension from the betrayer mechanic made every turn feel like a gamble, and we ended up yelling at each other over who was hoarding medicine. Does anyone else find that hidden traitor rules make or break a coop game for you?

Yeah @fiona330 nailed it, private votes stop the chaos.

lol "who was hoarding medicine" is literally my group. The betrayer mechanic saved coop games for me too, it makes you actually pay attention instead of just vibe together. If your group ever wants less yelling, try setting up a private vote system before the hard accusations start.
