Overheard a guy at the cafe say his game group fell apart over a missing meeple

He was telling his friend the whole night got derailed because someone lost a single green piece from Scythe. It made me think about how we can get so focused on the parts that we forget the point is to hang out. Has your group ever had a meltdown over something tiny?

Seriously? A whole game night wrecked over one piece. That's when you grab a spare coin or a different colored piece and keep playing. Groups that blow up over stuff like that were already looking for an excuse to fight. The game is just the thing they're using, not the real problem.

What's a game night without a little chaos? My group once spent twenty minutes in a full-blown search party for a specific red cube in Terraforming Mars, only to find it stuck to the bottom of my soda can. We were all so mad at the game we forgot we were the ones playing it badly.
