Sleeving my Terraforming Mars cards changed my mind after a spilled Coke at Gen Con
I skipped sleeves for 4 years to save money, then a buddy knocked over his drink and wrecked 30 cards worth $60, which cost way more than the $18 pack of 500 sleeves I grabbed at the vendor hall.

Ha, nothing like a $60 lesson to make you finally buy sleeves. Four years of saving money and one clumsy friend with a Coke does what no amount of forum advice ever could. The math was always right there man, $18 for 500 sleeves versus losing 30 cards in one dumb second. I get the cheap thing though, I did the same for years until a cat knocked my whole box off the table. Sometimes it takes a real disaster to get us off our butts.
