That critique about my board game group's "take that" attitude hit home
I used to love loading every game with attack cards and direct conflict, but last month a regular member told me I was "sucking the fun out" for the quieter players. They explained how my constant sabotage in a 3-hour Scythe game made two people not want to come back to the Friday night meetup. Have any of you changed your group's house rules after someone called you out on being too aggressive?

My friend Dave lost three players after a single ruthless game of Cosmic Encounter.

Wonder if Dave even tried asking those folks what specifically went wrong for them. Sometimes losing players isn't about the game being too mean, it's about not setting expectations before you start.
