Bought a cheap pipe threader from a truck stop sale
It was a 'bargain' at 25 bucks, but the die head snapped clean off on the third pipe. Had to buy a new one from the supply house anyway, so that's 25 dollars and half a morning gone. The guy at the counter just shrugged and said 'no returns on tools'. Anyone know a good brand for a hand threader that won't quit on you?

Man that's the worst feeling lol. Those truck stop "deals" are always a gamble. Had a cheap wrench snap on me once, total waste of time.

Learned that lesson the hard way with a cheap tap set. Now I only buy threaders from actual tool brands like Ridgid or Reed. They cost more but last for years. What kind of pipes are you working on?

My old boss swore by Harbor Freight threaders to save money. After three stripped dies and a ruined piece of pipe in one week, I finally listened and bought a Ridgid. That was five years ago and it still cuts perfect threads. What brand did you switch from?
