Found out my grinder disc was way past safe RPM rating
Saw a post on r/welding about a guy whose disc blew apart at 12k RPM. Checked my own grinder and disc combo - the disc was rated for 8k max but my gun runs at 11k. You guys ever check this stuff or just run what you grab?

Man I had that same scare a few years back! Now I just double check the wheel rating before I even put it on the grinder. Saves me from worrying about it exploding in my face.

You ever notice how that kind of oversight sneaks into everything, not just tools? @the_blair you're dead right to double check, but I swear half the time we grab a disc or blade without even thinking because we're in a hurry or just used to it. It's like when people don't check tire pressure on their car until one blows, or ignore the date on a fire extinguisher. We just assume it'll work because it looks fine. That's the scary part, right?
