I almost lost a finger to a slip on a wet scaffold last Tuesday
Last Tuesday morning I was up on a wet scaffold at a job site near the train yard. I went to reposition a 4-foot pipe and my boot slipped right off the plank. It threw my hand into a sharp edge on a steel beam and I came within an inch of cutting my thumb off. Took me 10 minutes to stop the bleeding with a rag from my pocket. Has anyone else ever had a close call on wet iron like that?

Oh my goodness, that is way too close for comfort. I'm glad you still have all your fingers.

Wear thick leather gloves next time (the kind with the long cuffs). I always keep a pair in my truck now after a close call with a table saw. And have a first aid kit nearby with proper bandages and clotting stuff. Trust me, even a small slip can go bad fast if you're not ready.
