Spent $180 on a set of magnetic weld clamps last month and they've been a total game changer for pipe fit-up.
Honestly, I was using C-clamps and a lot of cussing on a big boiler job, and these things cut my fit-up time in half. They hold everything square and tight so I can tack without fighting it. Anyone else tried these or have a different go-to for tricky fit-ups?

Sounds like @julia_jones72 got the bargain bin magnets dipped in weak sauce. My cheap set is still sticking after a year, but I also don't let them cook in the weld puddle. Maybe the trick is using them to hold the work, not as a heat sink.

Spent a fortune on a set of those last year and they were junk. The magnets lost their pull after a few months of real heat. My old adjustable horseshoe clamps might take an extra minute to set up, but they don't fail when you need them most. I've seen guys drop big money on fancy gear that just doesn't hold up like the basics.
