Spent $680 on a hydraulic torque wrench that sits in my gang box collecting rust
I got talked into buying a hydraulic torque wrench at the supply house in Gary about a year ago. The salesman swore it would cut my flange time in half and I believed him. Two jobs later I went back to my $90 manual wrench and a cheater bar, because the hydraulic setup took longer to rig up than just doing the bolts by hand. If you are working on small flanges or short shutdowns, save your money and skip it. What tools have you bought that ended up not earning their keep?
