The fit-up wedge thing I refused to use for 8 years

I always thought drift pins were for ironworkers and that spending $60 on a set of tapered alignment wedges was a waste. Then on a boiler tube job in Baton Rouge last month, the lead handed me one and said "stop hammering the tube, just spin this in." Took me about 20 seconds to line up a joint that I'd been fighting for 45 minutes. Now I carry three sizes in my bag and I feel dumb for all the bruised knuckles I had before. Anyone else swear by a tool they ignored for way too long?
