TIL my cheap tig cup was costing me more than the expensive one
Picked up a $12 gas lens kit off Amazon last month and blew through twice the argon on a big stainless tank job. Swapped to a $50 name-brand cup from the welding supply and my gas usage dropped right back to normal. Anybody else get burned by cheap cup kits or was I just unlucky?

Blowing through twice the argon" man that hits home. I had the same thing with a cheap cup on a aluminum job last year, it was just dumping gas out the sides. Swapped to a Furick cup and it made a huge difference, gas usage went way down and the welds looked cleaner too.
