Used to run my torch on standard oxygen bottles for 12 years straight
Swapped to liquid oxygen last March after a guy at the local fab shop in Gary told me I was burning through twice the gas I needed, and I haven't looked back since - anyone else make that jump and notice a difference in their bevels?

idk if this is just my setup or what, but switching to liquid oxygen actually changed how my puddle acts on thicker plate. with bottles i'd always get this weird wandering on like 3/4 inch stuff, had to really lock in my angle. liquid oxygen gives me this super consistent little dance in the puddle, almost like it's humming steady. i noticed my bevels came out way cleaner on the root pass, less of that jagged edge i used to have to grind out. might be something with the purity or pressure, but it's night and day for me on heavy wall pipe.

@dianagreen you're describing exactly what I found. On schedule 80 pipe, my puddle would just skate around with bottles. Liquid oxygen made it sit still like it was locked in place. My root passes got way tighter and I stopped having to chase those weird little undercuts. It took about two weeks to get used to the pressure difference though. Did you have to dial your flow way back at first?
