Book club picked a 800 page book and split it wrong
We split it by chapters, not pages, so half the group read 60 pages and the other read 140. One guy, Dave, bailed at page 300 and told us the ending, which ruined the last meeting. Has anyone else had a bad split ruin a whole month?

Saw a thing on reddit once where someone's club split a series into two books and half the people read book two first. Total chaos. Dave spoiling the ending is rough though, that would make me want to skip the next meeting just to avoid the awkwardness. Splitting by page count sounds simple but chapter breaks always mess it up, especially if one chapter is like forty pages long.
