Changed my stance on the unreliable narrator debate after 'The Sound and the Fury'

I used to think unreliable narrators were just lazy writing, but reading Faulkner's 1929 novel with my club in Portland last month made me see how they force you to build the story yourself, so has anyone else flip-flopped on a book they initially dismissed?

Wait, did building the story yourself actually make you enjoy it more, or did you just respect the effort it took?

Honestly I thought it was just busywork before, but now I get why people love it.
