Hot take: That cheap book club discussion guide website burned me good

I paid $12 for a set of discussion questions from a site called something like "BookTalk Guides" last month for our club meeting on a literary fiction novel. The questions were super generic, like "How did the main character change?" with no specifics to the actual story. I could have written better prompts myself in 10 minutes for free. Has anyone else found a reliable source for decent discussion questions that actually cost less than the book itself?

Went into that same site expecting the same thing, honestly figured $12 was cheap enough to risk it. Came out feeling like I got scammed just like you did. Definitely changed my mind about paying for something that generic.

Used to think $12 was no big deal. Like what's the worst that happens, you lose a lunch. But after that experience I totally get it now. It's not even about the money, it's the principle of getting something that feels so lazy. Made me realize cheap isn't always worth it, even for small amounts.
